SMS program
Marlin & Quill sends recurring text messages to readers who opt in, including new-release notices, reading-list updates, and event alerts. Messages are sent only after you give consent. Consent is not a condition of buying a book or using the site. Message frequency varies, up to 4 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply.
Opt in
You opt in by submitting your mobile number on our website and checking the messaging consent box, or by texting our published keyword when we offer one. Opting in means you agree to receive those messages and to these terms and our privacy policy.
Opt out
Reply STOP to cancel. You will receive one confirmation, and then no further marketing texts. Reply HELP for help, or email hello@marlinquill.com.
Carriers
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
We describe what we collect in our privacy policy. Any personal information that we collect, as identified in the “Personal Data We Collect” section, will not be shared with third parties.
Books
Titles on this site are sold by retailers, including Amazon. A purchase is a transaction with that retailer, under that retailer’s terms. You do not need to agree to text messages in order to buy a book. Author websites linked from this site are run by those authors and have their own terms.
The books are practical guides. They are not medical, legal, veterinary, or financial advice, and they are not a substitute for a qualified professional.
Site use
The site and its contents are owned by Marlin & Quill LLC. You may not copy or misuse them. You may read the site and share links to it. You may not scrape it, break it, or present our name, logo, or book text as your own.
Messages sent through the contact form are delivered to hello@marlinquill.com. Do not send confidential information you are not prepared to have stored by our form provider in the course of that delivery.

We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page. The date below is the date of the current version. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon.
